The Cridge Transition House for Women is an emergency shelter working to provide safety to women and their children who are fleeing violence. We provide shelter and programming to assist those looking for help to get a fresh start.

We provide a 30-day stay to women/families who come to the transition house.

Our crisis line (call 250.479.3963) is available 24hours a day, 7 days a week. Our staff can answer questions about our program, do an initial assessment with the caller to see if they would benefit from our services, or provide extra resources/information available in Victoria to suit your needs.

Yes! We encourage women to bring their children with them when they come to the transition house.

At this time, we are unable to accommodate pets of any kind (including service animals).

  • In-house 1-on-1 support with our staff
  • Assistance in finding housing, connections to community housing resources
  • Support accessing community resources
  • Referrals to community programs (i.e., legal aid, income assistance, childcare resources) and assistance filling out related applications and documents
  • Child and youth support
  • Communal living – shared chores, shared cooking, shared bathrooms and shared living spaces
  • Staff on-site 24 hours a day 7 days a week
  • A substance-use free house
  • Some personal care items may be provided if you are not able to bring any with you
  • Weekly groceriesordered for the house

Yes! We have an outreach worker we may be able to connect you with, call 250.479.3963 to talk to staff about what options may be available to help you.

We accept volunteers for a number of positions (cooking, childcare, administrative support, etc.). Submit an application here or call for more information.

  • Important documentation/identification – driver’s license, care card, passport, birth certificate, citizenship papers/PR card
  • Bank cards
  • Clothing for yourself and your children
  • A comfort toy/item for your child(ren)
  • Medications and prescriptions
