Getting Through It, Together

Living with a brain injury can be an incredibly isolating experience—but meaningful peer support can make all the difference. Having a safe space to connect with others who truly understand the journey of recovery brings comfort, strength, and a renewed sense of hope. At The Cridge Brain Injury Services, two weekly peer support groups are doing just that.

The Bluesheet Club is a vibrant and evolving support group for brain injury survivors, dedicated to enhancing lives through social connection, cognitive stimulation, and community involvement. Created to meet the educational, social, and physical needs of its members, the Club hosts a wide range of weekly activities—from book clubs, outings, and games to podcast production and puzzle creation.

Since 2019, members of the club have produced the Time to Talk Traumatic Brain Injury podcast, where survivors share their challenges and triumphs, offering encouragement, insight, and solidarity to others on a similar path.

You can listen or subscribe on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. Learn more or explore the archive of past episodes at cridge.org/podcast.

For women navigating brain injury, the newly formed Women’s Art and Craft Group is a welcoming gathering, full of creativity, conversation, and connection. The warm, welcoming atmosphere fosters friendships, boosts self-esteem, and offers a supportive space to create art and enjoy each other’s company.

Whether it’s through creative expression or sharing a quiet moment of understanding, peer support reminds people living with a brain injury that they are never alone. It’s an ethos we can all embrace by following the Bluesheet Club motto: “Working with and giving back to others.”
