Del Phillips, a director on the board of The Cridge Centre for the Family, has been honoured with the City of Victoria’s prestigious Honorary Citizen Award for his outstanding service and longstanding contributions to the community.

A dedicated supporter of The Cridge Centre for more than 30 years, Del has served in numerous capacities, including Treasurer, President, and now Director of the Board. His leadership, commitment, and compassion have left an enduring impact on the organization and the people it serves.

Established in 1970, the Honorary Citizen Award recognizes individuals who have served the City of Victoria with distinction, often as volunteers and without expectation of recognition. Every four years, nominations are reviewed by a selection committee, which then makes recommendations for Council’s consideration. This year, nine recipients were celebrated during a formal awards ceremony.

Val Fuller, President of The Cridge Centre board of directors says, “Del couldn’t be more deserving of this award. His dedication and character make him a true inspiration to everyone around him.”

The award acknowledgment states: “With a personal and professional history of advocacy, Del’s work helped shape the future of child and youth care in BC. For over 40 years he has worked with the Cridge Centre for the Family in numerous capacities. Always one to step in when asked, Del is a respected mentor, advocate and community builder.”

Congratulations, Del!
