Being a Blessed Resident of The Cridge Seniors’ Village

I’d like to share with you how my journey to becoming a resident of The Cridge Centre started about five years ago when I met Sr. Josephine Carney. She influenced my life immensely, in part with my decision to make The Cridge Centre my home. I met Sister Josephine at St. Andrews Cathedral at a meeting of the Legion of Mary in May of 2008. She was an incredibly loving, caring lady and was held in high regard by everybody involved. Sister Josephine treated everyone with dignity and respect equally.

When it was the right time for my move to an assisted living residence, Sr. Jo always relayed the fantastic care she received from The Cridge Seniors’ Village management and staff. I am, as she was, ever so grateful for the gracious extension of showing LOVE and CARE on behalf of all the Cridge family and team every day. That says it all, what The Cridge Centre is all about: love and caring for ALL residents.

I want to share my appreciation and present my gratitude to all members of The Cridge kitchen team. The meals are the best in all of Victoria! The menu is excellent with lots of variety, abundance and many kinds of fruits. Absolutely delicious!

Moreover, my appreciation also goes out to our wonderful servers, receptionists and housekeeping staff who are always so helpful with little extra things and kindness, including the maintenance staff and our gardener. We all enjoy The Cridge grounds, with all of the beautiful spaces to walk and gardens that you care for so well. Thanks to Patrick for not admonishing me last spring for picking a Dandelion Bouquet. I was desperate for a live bouquet as I could not go out to buy flowers. It made a dull time delightful and helped me move forward day by day!

Another great wonder and asset is the scenery all around us. The mountain views are tremendous, not only from walking out of the front door but also from our suites. I also want to give recognition to the Seniors recreation team as well. We work closely together doing the most enjoyable activities and also on a one-to-one basis.

One more acknowledgement of thanks and appreciation goes out to all our residents whom I enjoy so much. I have been a resident at The Cridge Centre for about a year and six months. I have never heard a rude word spoken to or about anyone or any complaints, except for mentioning the COVID lockdown. That hopefully will soon be in the past.

My decision to join The Cridge family was the best decision I have made in my later life, probably one of the best choices in my life.

Thank you, Cridge Family! I feel so safe and cared for. You are my family now, and I want you to know, I Love My New Home and your caring touch and concern.

Thank you, thank you.

God Bless.
